Nov. 28-30 - Florida Chamber of Commerce Annual Insurance Summit
Pat Maroney, Director, and Associate Director Lorilee Medders, Ph.D., The Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center, participated in this meeting, which was also sponsored by the Center. Pat Maroney participated in a panel that discussed ways Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund secure funding. Lorilee Medders moderated a panel on catastrophe modeling.
Nov. 18-20 - Southern Risk and Insurance Association Annual Meeting
Pat Maroney, Director, and Associate Director Lorilee Medders, Ph.D., The Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center. presented papers at the 2012 Southern Risk and Insurance Association Annual Meeting. Topics presented included windstorm mitigation financing options and demand for mitigation features.
October 10-11 - 2nd Annual Florida Insurance Conference on Financial Reporting
The Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center participated in this seminar that was designed for insurer CFOs, controllers, treasurers and others who deal with insurer financial matters. Key topics included a legislative update for insurance companies doing business in Florida, the state of the insurance and capital markets, reinsurance market updates, and catastrophe modeling. Speakers from the Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center included Pat Maroney, Director, Associate Director Lorilee Medders, Ph.D., and Charles Nyce, Ph.D.
June 21 - Property Insurance Challenges and Mitigation in Coastal Markets
The Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center presented a four-hour CE credit session as part of the James K. Ruble MEGA Seminar. Speakers included Pat Maroney, Director, Associate Director Lorilee Medders, Ph.D., and Associate Director Charles Nyce, Ph.D., The Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center.
